Lead our work to improve recycling business for Tetra Pak packaging and contribute to Tetra Pak leading the sustainability transformation!
We are looking for our next recycling business specialist who will take the lead on maximising business opportunities for recycling of Tetra Pak packaging and help lead the sustainability transformation journey in the Tetra Pak 2030 strategy. Your primary responsibility is to assess business cases for recycling of post-consumer beverage cartons and develop opportunities to improve the business, by collaborating with partners. You will investigate and analyse the recycling processes and the related investments and operational costs, as well as the quality, volumes and prices of output products and its applications. Your work should lead to development of best practices and future scenarios, linked to input and output of material quality, and geography.
You will join our central recycling specialist team consisting of seven people, supporting Tetra Pak’s business globally. You will report to the Director, Recycling Technologies and Recyclability, based in Lund, Sweden. You will be part of Tetra Pak global Sustainability team.
You will be working closely with your colleagues in the Recycling team and the Sustainability teams across the world to understand the recycling value chain for post-consumer beverage cartons and its challenges. You will network proactively internally and externally to initiate collaboration leading to best practices and business improvements, resulting in higher recycling rates.
What you will do
As Recycling Business Specialist, you will:
Define and compare typical recycling business options, linked to material properties.
Create map of product applications linked to material quality and properties
Make high-level assessments of technical and business proposals coming from external parties, as well as making more detailed analysis on further selected business cases.
Identify and collaborate with value chain stakeholders to explore improvement opportunities for the recycling of Tetra Pak packaging.
Define a strategy/scenario from a business perspective for recycling solutions from today and forward, from paper mill to sold recycled material to maximize recycling.
This is a permanent position, and you will be based in Lund, Sweden. Travels are limited, maximum up to 25 % of your time.
Who you are
You are a business oriented, analytical, and technically interested person, with ability to proactively drive, and scout for tomorrow’s recycling business solutions. You enjoy creating the way forward as you go and can comfortably network in a global setting. You take timely and effective business decisions based on insights and facts to ensure progress of your work. Furthermore, you work well both independently and in collaboration with stakeholders on all levels.
We believe you have:
MSc university degree, preferably within Engineering, Engineering Management or similar
Experience of B2B development, analysing business cases and initiating strategic industry partnerships
Technical experience and knowledge of processing, recycling and/or applications for plastic and recycled plastics materials
Contracting, and negotiation skills is valuable
Technical knowledge from Tetra Pak packaging is a plus
Experience of working with topics related to environment, circular economy and recycling is a merit
Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
