About the role:
Our Lund site is focused on analyses and scientific evaluations of solid materials within the field of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. This job involves conducting various types of analyses using techniques such as XRPD, GVS, TGA, DCS, laser scattering, etc. The role also includes maintaining selected instruments, working independently on investigations, documenting laboratory work, compiling reports, and validating methods to the correct quality level when needed. Also, the job requires active participation in troubleshooting projects and striving to improve everyday work on the unit, as well as maintaining close collaboration with colleagues and external partners.

You will be part of a center of excellence team responsible for supporting product development and contract manufacturing projects.

Key tasks (among others):

· Execution of analyses covering a broad spectrum of techniques such as XRPD
· (X-Ray Powder Diffraction), gravimetric analysis such as GVS (Gravimetric Vapor Sorption) and TGA (Thermal Gravimetric Analyze) calorimetric analysis such as DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and TAM (Thermal Activity Monitor), specific surface area determinations by BET (Brunauer, Emmett, Teller), particle size distribution analyses using laser scattering techniques, EDS-SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy) and several types of spectroscopy.
· Obtain the responsibility of maintenance of selected instruments.
· Gradually work independently in special investigations such as salt- and polymorph-screenings, crystallizations, and detailed evaluations of the process robustness and long-term stability of the material.
· Document all laboratory work in accordance with the internal quality system as well as with the demands of the customer and compile reports in English.
· When needed validate methods in accordance with the correct quality level, i.e., GMP (Pharmaceuticals) and ISO 13485 (Medical Device).
· Maintain close collaboration with colleagues internally as well as with external partners.


Who do we think you are to succeed in this role?

· A Ph.D. in applied material science or analytical chemistry or an equivalent MSc with some years of professional experience in a relevant area.
· A natural interest in the field of physical chemistry and in technical instrumentation.
· Devotion to practical experimental work.
· The capability to enjoy the change from basic routine work to advanced studies that are of critical importance for the progress of our development projects.
· A pro-active and flexible mindset and an open-minded working style.
· Working experience in a relevant area is an advantage.
· Good communicator, both written and verbal in English.
· Knowledge from solid-state science is merit.

Responsibilities:
We are developing the business and are looking for a Cell/Biochemical Engineer who can join our team to support our business in the ATMP /stem cell area where we are commercializing novel treatments and act as CDMO. We consider our customers as partners and together we make it possible to provide ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medical Products) to patients in need. We work together with life science companies, universities and hospitals and produce ATMP in a GMP environment. You will work in a high standard GMP facility with “state-of-the-art” equipment. Our team is growing and we consider applications with seniority as well for someone that is in the start of their career.
Designing and optimizing cellular production processes.
Conducting research to enhance cell viability, productivity, and efficiency.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and find solutions.
Implementing quality control measures to ensure product integrity.
Contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge through publications and presentations.

Requirements:
Degree- Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in cellular engineering, including cell culture techniques, metabolic engineering, and molecular biology.
Experience from working in a GMP environment.
Excellent collaboration skills, you will work internally with multidisciplinary teams as well with our external partners.
Excellent communications skills, both orally and in writing – our cooperate language is English.
