Your Profile:
• PhD in Enzymology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in enzyme engineering and enzyme library construction.
• Expertise in assay design and troubleshooting.
• Preferred experience in protein production, purification, and characterization.
• Knowledge in plastic polymers is a significant plus.
• Strong team player with a passion for collaborative projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in English; some knowledge of the Swedish language would be advantageous.
Job Description:
As a Senior Research Scientist in Enzyme Engineering at CycleZyme AB, you will play a pivotal role in our ambitious research projects aimed at enhancing enzyme-based plastic polymer degradation. Your responsibilities will include:
• Strengthening our team working on Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) projects to optimize current enzymatic processes.
• Initiating new projects focused on novel applications and diverse polymers, such as polyamides, elastomers, and polyolefins. This entails identifying, characterizing, and optimizing enzymes capable of polymer degradation.
• Employing cutting-edge evolutionary approaches to advance enzyme engineering.
• Developing dedicated analytical methods related to projects.
• Conducting studies on enzyme/polymer interactions.
• Constructing and screening enzyme libraries using in silico molecular modeling and design methods.
• Establishing high-throughput screening methods.
• Conducting independent research, planning and executing experiments, and preparing research reports.
• Demonstrating strong communication skills and collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
