Senior Scientist – Diagnostic Devices Development
The role
As a senior scientist, your responsibility is to develop surface functionalization chemistries for our IVF diagnostic products and experimentally test their performance. You will be part of our R&D team, working on developing, validating, and optimizing Spermosen’s IVF diagnostic devices. As part of the R&D team, you will analyze and present your data and participate in product development. The position is based in Lund, Sweden.
Your responsibilities
Develop surface functionalization chemistries for Spermosens IVF diagnostic devices.
Perform surface characterization to determine characteristics such as uniformity and stability
Validate different surface functionalization chemistries regarding their performance as part of the protein assay
Work together with the R&D team to troubleshoot complex problems
Provide support for product development
Research novel application areas
Minimum requirements
Master’s in chemistry, biochemistry, surface chemistry, or related fields
Experience with surface chemistry and conjugation
Experience with modification of surfaces for attachment of biomolecules such as proteins
Solid experience and proven knowledge of electrochemistry techniques (cyclic voltammetry, impedance, amperometry) and surface characterization techniques
Preferred qualifications
Industry experience working on the functionalization of surfaces with biomolecules
Experience in building, testing, and characterizing electrochemical biosensors
Ability to perform in-depth and critical data analysis
A commercial mindset with the ability to move projects forward
