About the position 

We are now looking to appoint a summer worker for the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHS&E) group in the Environment, Safety, Health & Security (ESH&S) division.  

The group is responsible for developing, supporting, monitoring and assuring the implementation of policies, rules, procedures, objectives, and best practices at all levels of the organisation in matters of OHS&E. 

As an OHS&E summer worker your main tasks will be to update ESS rules with the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s new regulatory structure and help mapping requirements, prepare material to develop an online ergonomic training, and update/develop the rules for non-flammable compressed gas handling and storage. 

About you 

A suitable background for this position would be:


• Education and/or work experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of the Swedish Work Environment Authority regulations.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of Swedish.
• Minimum age 18 years.

We believe that you enjoy communicating and collaborating with a variety of people in an international environment. You are good at taking initiative and not afraid to ask questions.

You are accustomed to using various, regular IT tools and programs, and find it easy to learn new systems. 

Duration and location 

This is a summer work position of 6 to 8 weeks. 

Planned start date is 16th June, 2025 or per agreement.

Your workplace is on-site at ESS in Lund, Sweden.

Job Summary

In the organisation HR Country Services, we are now looking for a new experienced and hands-on OHS Officer to continue to drive our Occupational Health and Safety program for the Nordic market. Your task will be to ensure delivery of the Corporate OHS strategy at different sites. The team is also responsible for establishing and maintaining the local OHS policies, guidelines, and procedures.
As our new colleague, you will work together with an experienced and committed team of OHS officers. You will have a broad network internally as well as externally including coordinating external consultants. In addition, you will also act as champion for a positive occupational health and safety culture across the entire site.
The position is permanent and is based in Lund, but will require some travelling, mainly in the Nordic countries. You will report to HR Country Services Leader Nordics.
What you will do
As OHS Officer you will:
Provide OHS advice and guidance to ensure compliance with Group OHS policy.
Establish, maintain, and monitor systems to support compliance with the Group OHS procedures and local legislation.
As required establish and monitor an OHS inspection program of customer sites.
Audit OHS on the site, register needs, and take necessary actions.
Improve safety awareness of employees and subcontractors.
You will monitor the Nordic legal framework, propose changes, and take corrective actions.
Advice and liaise with relevant stakeholders about legal risks, issues, and improvements

We believe you have
At least 5-10 years’ experience in OHS in an international environment, specifically including installation, commissioning, and service environment.
Technical degree/diploma within Occupational, Health and Safety.
Excellent skills in Swedish and English, written as well as spoken.
Knowledge within the legal framework of the Nordics countries.

To be successful in this role, you have proven change management skills and like to make a difference with the employees’ interest in mind. You are an effective relationship-builder who possess excellent communications skills and can build relations in a co-operative, diplomatic and successful manner. You have strong leadership abilities with experience of working proactively with OHS. We also believe you have experience to drive and implement changes in processes, behaviour and implementation of new systems and structures.
