The role’s main task will center around:
Develop Computer Vision (CV) related tools and solutions for creating and maintaining large-scale interactive experiences combining Sony IP and technology.

Main responsibilities:
Markerless body tracking solutions:
• Improve proprietary markerless body tracking solutions.
• Adapt solutions for Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) use cases.
• Develop tools for easy setup, as well as maintain and evaluate the tracking systems in both temporary and permanent installations.

Communication and coordination:
• Act as the main point of contact for CV inquiries and requests.
• Regularly share updates on progress with colleagues in Japan.
• Stay informed about the latest developments of internal CV related solutions (SEC/ BIPF).

System testing and stability:
• Ensure compatibility of tracking systems with core technologies used within the LBE SDK.
• Frequently test tracking solutions to ensure stability.
• Write and execute test cases for new software versions.
• Install and configure software on various systems.

Hardware and software integration:
• Investigate hardware improvements related to tracking solutions.
• Develop or modify software to support the in-house 3D pose estimation software as needed.

Client interaction and project support:
• Understand the system thoroughly to evaluate client requirements and determine feasibility.
• Implement functions to support new project needs and integrate them into the 3D pose estimation software.

What you will do from day to day
Participating in planning of test sessions
Perform operator and customization related test and report result
Executing the test sessions and following up on issues. Validate and verify fixed issue with new SW version
Perform in-depth analysis of found issues, within area of expertise, in order to provide developers with needed information
Work both with simulated and live environment, depending on what support that is needed
Work close with development teams, network vendors and operators
Collect field test information (test routes, network specific scenarios, network configuration)
Driving long term quality work by continuously improving test methods, test suite, documentation and test process.
Operator customer acceptance test onsite support. Validate operator reported issue
Travel to perform testing will be necessary from time to time
Write test specifications and test instructions for our areas of responsibility

The Radio Access Technology team is a vital part of the final quality of our devices.
The team is responsible to secure that the modem and telephony functions are working according to requirements. With some of the worlds most experienced radio access engineers, we provide a unique learning environment.

Responsibilities

About the position
The team belongs to the section “Network Development & Verification” in Lund and is responsible for securing WLAN and Bluetooth functionality in Sony’s mobile phones, primarily for the yearly cookie upgrades. Currently the Local Connectivity team consists of a Team Leader and four very skilled engineers, two focusing on WLAN and two focusing on Bluetooth. In addition, we have the support of an outsourcing team of about ten engineers. We are now looking to strengthening our team and are looking for a quite senior engineer who cannot only participate in bring-up and issue handling activities of Sony mobile phones, but who can also be the technical interface towards our outsourcing team in China. This person will also be supporting the Team Leader, e.g. with technical support for triage and strategic decisions. Competence within WLAN (framework as well as driver side) is of course important, but equally important is that the person is experienced in the Android development environment and tool chain. Experience from Qualcomm Android platforms would also be very valuable. The key purpose for adding this person is to off-load our two WLAN engineers as well as supporting the Team Leader. Therefore, you must be a self-going person, capable of and comfortable with taking decisions, and with good communication skills. You will need to have the ability to juggle many critical things at once, be able to prioritize between them, and often work against several different deadlines simultaneously. Because the world of mobile telephony is an ever-changing world you must be flexible, not afraid to take on new challenges, and eager to learn new things.
