Processing Liquid Food Solutions is responsible for development and manufacturing of solutions and branded processing units for the processing of liquid foods within dairy, beverage, prepared food, and plant based. We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer that will have a key role in providing technical service to our Market Companies and end customers.

The position is permanent and preferably based in Lund, but you may be located at any Tetra Pak Processing office. The role includes up to 150 travel days per year.

Your main task will be to test, start-up and fine-tune our solutions, both our branded processing units and complete process lines, at our production site and at end-customer’s factories all over the world. The European Spallation Source (ESS) is one of the largest science and technology infrastructure projects being built today. About the role:

ESS is at an exciting turning point. It is in transition from being a construction site, to being an operating facility. To help us realise our goal of being the most powerful neutron source in the world, we are now looking for a RF cavity scientist or engineer to join the Linac Group to support the operation, maintenance and development of the normal-conducting and superconducting cavities of the ESS linear accelerator.

In this role, you will be working within a team of technicians and engineers. The ESS linac accelerating elements include an RFQ, 3 buncher cavities, a 5-segment drift-tube linac, 26 double spoke cavities and up to 120 elliptical cavities of two different families (medium beta and high beta). All of the normal conducting front-end, the spokes and 56 elliptical cavities are already installed for the staged commissioning of the facility at 2 MW power. Commissioning with low power beam is under way, and operation with higher beam power is planned to start in 2026 – when the protons can be sent to the spallation target.

Linac group members support operation with 24/7 on-call services and in periods of extended working hours during critical commissioning phases, which may require periods of work during weekends and unsocial hours.

The linac group operates an ion-source test stand (for studies of beam stability/reliability and optimisation) and a Cryomodule test stand. The development of a spare RFQ and of a full cryomodule repair facility are activities that will soon open with the transition to the operation phase. In addition to the operational support, you will have the opportunity to lead activities towards cavity performance recovery strategies (e.g. plasma processing of superconducting RF cavities) and improvements of the handling and testing infrastructure at ESS (e.g. provisions for clean room cavity handling and vertical cavity testing). Your tasks will be managed and coordinated in close collaboration with the other groups of the Accelerator Division, with the Operations Division and in collaboration with ESS in-kind partners. All work at ESS is performed in compliance with rules for health and safety and follows ESS standards for engineering and documentation.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at the ESS Campus in Lund, Sweden.

About you:

To excel in this role, we need a highly skilled and adaptable engineer or scientist with a deep understanding of radio frequency (RF) cavity technology, particle accelerators, and high-power beam physics. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and development of the normal-conducting and superconducting cavities of the ESS linear accelerator. As such, you should be comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on, and high-stakes environment where precision, collaboration, and innovation are key to our collective success.

A master’s degree or a PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience), as well as extensive technical expertise in superconducting RF cavity systems, accelerator physics, or high-power RF systems is essential for this role. You must have a strong understanding of normal-conducting and superconducting accelerator cavities, including aspects of design, commissioning, and operation.

You need to have extensive, hands-on practical experience with accelerator technology. This includes commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting accelerator components, as well as knowledge of beam dynamics, RF power sources, cryogenic systems, and vacuum technology. You should also be very familiar with beam transport systems, ion sources, and accelerator magnets. Prior experience with low-level RF (LLRF) systems, klystrons, and solid-state RF amplifiers is highly desirable. Experience of ensuring compliance with radiation safety, cryogenic safety, and high-voltage protocols and an ability to assess risks and implement mitigation strategies in an accelerator environment is a prerequisite for this role.

Aside from your technical competence, you should be comfortable working closely with engineers, scientists, technicians, and operations teams. Experience of collaborating with in-kind partners, research institutions, and industrial suppliers would be a benefit. The transition from construction to operation requires flexibility in handling unexpected challenges. Therefore, we need someone who can analyse complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions which balance short-term problem-solving with long-term planning.

Documenting processes, writing technical reports, and presenting findings to colleagues and stakeholders is another important aspect of this role.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required, as this is the working language of ESS.

Hands-on experience resolving technical issues at customer sites
A good command of both written and verbal English is necessary
Knowledge of other languages will be a plus
Knowledge on processing equipment in the food industry will be considered as an advantage
Driving license

Job Summary
Within the Center of Expertize Maintenance Packaging in the SRVCS Next Generation Service Operations-, we are looking for a Maintenance Reliability Specialist, who will take responsibility of the Global Maintenance Recommendations of our equipment. In this position, you will participate in the consistent application of RCM (Reliability Center Methodology) to secure that we develop, improve, and implement accurate and effective maintenance recommendations to maintain Core Tetra Pak equipment, as well as Extended equipment at our customer plants. What you will do
Lead the development of maintenance tasks based on the optimum maintenance tactical mix to target equipment mechanical performance and acceptable maintenance cost, in collaboration with Equipment product owner and other relevant experts
Participate during the life cycle updates and development project of equipment in the control and review of the maintenance cost
Lead the maintenance strategy of our equipment base on the maintenance analyses and in compliance with service business requirements

Maintain equipment structure (BOM) in the Enterprise Asset Management tool, based on Engineering change or Task update requirements
Drive the corrections, improvements, and modifications of the Global Maintenance Recommendations base on the request of the end users and feedback

We believe you have
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
Master’s degree a plus
Certificate as a Reliability Engineer is an advantage
At least 3 years of technical, hands-on experience, being a Field Service, Test Engineer, Maintenance Specialist or Reliability Engineer with the attitude to develop, improve and maintain equipment maintenance recommendations
Any Customer Service Operation and Service Solutions experience is higly welcome
Tetra Pak Equipment knowledge, any relevant equipment knowledge (food packaging or processing) is a plus

Om oss

Tekniska förvaltningen har fem olika avdelningar; Gatu- och trafikavdelningen, Park och naturavdelningen, Mark och exploateringsavdelningen, Projektavdelningen samt Administrativa avdelningen som ger stöd åt verksamheterna.

Vi ser till att Lund har ett väl fungerande och hållbart transportsystem för alla trafikanter. I arbetet tar vi bland annat stor hänsyn till tillgänglighet, miljö och trafiksäkerhet. Lunds kommun har en stark tillväxt som medför stort antal om- och nybyggnadsprojekt både i tätorten Lund och de mindre tätorterna i öster.

Arbetsuppgifter

Gatu- och trafikavdelningen består bland annat av väg- och driftenheten som består av fyra driftingenjörer och en enhetschef som arbetar tillsammans för att utveckla Lunds kommun.

Väg- och driftenheten är en beställarenhet som arbetar inom väghållningsområdet. Vi söker dig som vill utvecklas inom våra ansvarsområden som är drift och underhåll av gator samt gång-och cykelvägar. Vi hanterar grävningstillstånd, renhållning, vinterväghållning, gatubelysning, beläggningsarbeten, brokonstruktioner, spårvägen samt felanmälan och synpunktshantering.

Vi söker dig som

Är positiv och vill vara med och utveckla vårt arbete inom enheten. Du som söker ska ha godkänd högskoleingenjörsutbildning med inriktning på gata/väg, anläggning eller infrastruktur, alternativt annan erfarenhet som vi bedömer som likvärdig.
Vi ser gärna att du har jobbat några år inom yrket. Erfarenhet från entreprenadsidan eller från den offentliga sektorn med inriktning på drift och underhåll är meriterande.
Du ska ha god förmåga att kunna kommunicera i både tal och skrift på svenska. Viktigt är också att ha kunskap om ekonomi. B-körkort är ett krav. Visa mindre
