What We’re Looking For:

Your role as our Software Engineering Manager:

You will lead a dynamic team of Software engineers whose main responsibilities are development within Android Framework, Embedded SW development and/or domain specific development.

Your team is located in our HQ in Lund, you will work in different projects closely together with the team members and various stakeholders within the organization, as well as customers. As a leader, you will drive and motivate a highly experienced team and you will encourage them to take personal responsibility. The main tasks are:


Project responsibilities for your team including resource planning and accountability for the team’s deliveries in all projects.

Responsible for the technical quality of your team deliveries.

Business support and customer discussion, which requires technical expertise.

Responsible of the team’s quotation work, line budget and project budget.

Continuously improving way of working to improve quality.

Manage line activities including performance management, salaries, competence development, recruitment.

Together with the other SW managers, set and drive long term strategic goals for the SW organizations.

Responsible of technical and competence roadmaps for your team.

Approximately 15 travelling days per year, mostly within Sweden and Europe is part of the job.

We will expand our teams, working on embedded products based on Android. The teams are currently working in the lower layers of the Android framework, including Linux drivers and in the java framework layer. The ideal candidate has worked in at least two different areas of the Android stack bellow the application layer. The developers will be part of very strong development teams that works with our high profile customers. Please note we are not looking for application developers.

Role and Responsibility

Design blocks and sub-systems, considering inputs like system architecture, HW specifications, chosen platform, use cases, standards and communication protocols.
Program in C, C++, Java and Python.
Adapt, configure and integrate code and sub-systems from external parties.
Contribute in pre-studies and propose technical solutions
Collaborate with specialists and developers from other technical areas like hardware, production technology, and quality verification
Investigate and learn new product domains in context of need to design the correct solutions

Requirements
We expect skills and experience in:

You will be working with several different customer projects in-house at Sigma Connectivity Design house. Depending on project you will be able to take part in all phases of a consumer product´s development life cycle; from sales, through vision study, proof of concept, development, to production. With Sigma Connectivity you will never work alone, but in close cooperation with other SW and HW engineers, managers and sales persons. You will work in Sigma Connectivity´s projects for small and big companies in US and Europe and a flexibility in working hours and traveling will be expected from you. We expect that your mindset is to always put a little extra effort to achieve your best for our customers and for your colleges.
As a senior modem/telephony developer at Sigma Connectivity you will be responsiblefor complete development life-cycle of modem subsystem right from bring up onCustomer HW to supporting High volume production, commercialization &maintenance;. Generally 50% of the time is in development activities and 50% iswith analysis.



Tasks:

Participating in planning and effort estimation.

Bring up of the modem subsystem on theCustomer HW, which includes RF front-end driver development, modemconfigurations, SIM interface bring-up e.t.c.

Supporting product commercialization whichincludes Operator acceptance testing, Type approval (GCF/PTCRB) testing andin-country field testing.

Supporting the development effort tosupport High volume production processes.

Handling the maintenance phase.
