CellaVision is looking to strengthen the Hardware department with a new Software Engineer.
CellaVision develops advanced medical equipment with high requirements on reliability, accuracy, image quality and throughput. The analyzers are equipped with high resolution optics, precision mechanics and specialized image processing. The Hardware department consists of mechanical, software and electronics engineers, each contributing with their specific knowledge and cooperate in solving interdisciplinary problems and turning ideas into products.
The Software Engineers in the Hardware Department areresponsible for developing and maintaining the embedded software, PC software and electronics for the analyzers and accessories. Both teams have responsibilities in testing analyzers and software according to applicable international laws and standards, and in transferring designs to production.
This is an excellent opportunity for you who want to participate in the whole development process of medical devices while working in an international environment where quality, development and innovation are constantly in focus.

Key tasks of the role
Develop and maintain FPGA-based embedded systems, both with Linux and bare metal.
Develop and maintain PC software for controlling the embedded systems.
Develop and maintain applications for production, test and calibration.
Test and conduct investigations of products and prototypes.
Participate in the design of systems using a combination of PC software, embedded software, electronics, mechanics and optics.
Review designs, reports and source code contributions from colleagues.
Share your knowledge and experiences with colleagues.


To be successful in the role you need to have
M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent.
Strong C++ programming skills.
Good VHDL programming skills.
Knowledge of a script language (Perl, Python).
Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong sense of responsibility, flexibility and focus on collaboration.
Good ability to quickly get acquainted with complex problems and solve them in a structured manner.


It is also meritorious if you already have
Experience with development of embedded systems.
Experience with control systems or image processing.
Experience with product development.
Experience from working in regulated environments.

As a fulltime- temporary assistant, you will be part of a cross functional team within CellaVision’ s SW & Applications and Innovation departments who work full-time on FPM. Fourier Ptychography Microscopy (FPM) is a novel microscopy technology that has the potential to combine a large field of view with high resolution and thereby enable new opportunities in diagnostic microscopy. To enable CellaVision to launch new products utilizing the FPM technology, the team urgently need an assistant to support the team in routine oriented tasks.

Work tasks as an Assistant:

- Labeling, recording, and organizing microscopy slides.

- Quality control of digital images

- You have an education corresponding to Swedish gymnasium.

- Be CellaVision’s scientific counterpart towards new strategic partners within pathology and cytology.

- Proactively monitor medical and technical developments in the fields of pathology and cytology.

- Advanced scientific or health related degree (e.g., M.D. or Ph.D.).

- 5 years of experience or equivalent within pathology or a closely related discipline such as cytology.

How will you contribute?

As a member of an Applications team, you will develop algorithms and software for our analyzers that automatically locate and pre-classify cells. Working together in the Application team, you will specialize in programming and digital image processing, used in our software to automatically detect, and classify cells and other objects in blood and body fluids. - Develop and maintain Windows desktop applications for lab personnel, using C# and WPF.

How you will contribute

As a member of the Customer Support team, you and your colleagues are responsible for service and customer support of CellaVision software and hardware products. Our Academy team is growing with an additional Global Training Specialist! As a Global Training Specialist at CellaVision, your overall purpose is to maintain and develop the CellaVision Academy. About the role

Key tasks:

- Software development in C++, C#/.NET, and Python. Develop applications in new areas as well as further development and maintenance of our existing applications.

- Development and implementation of algorithms using methods e.g. image processing and machine learning.

The Hardware Department

The Hardware department consists of two teams: Mechanics and Software. Key tasks as Mechanical Engineer

- Design mechanical parts and assemblies for our automated microscopes such as interfacing optical parts and moving mechanics for handling patients’ samples.

- Collect requirements for the end customer’s needs and utilize these requirements in the design solution.

- Test the design and construction of our modules, accessories, and systems.

- Create specifications, requirements, parts lists, test instructions, and assembly instructions.

The Regulatory Affairs Team

You will play a key role in the Regulatory Affairs team, consisting of two colleagues. The Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for the registration of our products in countries where CellaVision intends to market our products, often through support or cooperation with our international distribution partners. The Regulatory Affairs team is also responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and forwarding the regulatory requirements into QMS and product requirements. As Software Engineer you will be a key part of a newly formed Applications team. The team specializes in programming, machine learning, and image processing, used in our software to automatically detect and classify cells and other objects in blood and body fluids. The Applications team

At CellaVision we have two Applications teams, Applications 1 and 2, and this position will belong to Applications 1. At Applications 1 we work at the forefront of technology and use some of the latest advances in programming, digital imaging, and machine learning to create customer value. As a member, you will help to drive the future of digital cell morphology among highly skilled and passionate colleagues. The team, consisting of an almost even mix of males and females and with roots in five different nations, works in the critical interface between man and machine and has the goal to replace labor-intensive manual steps with state-of-the-art digital counterparts. We develop algorithms for our analyzers that locate and pre-classify cells to automate and simplify the process of performing blood and body fluid differentials.

The Product Management team manages CellaVision’s product portfolio from the idea stage to product launch. The Product Management team currently consists of five team members: Director Product Management, three Product Managers, and one UX Designer.

The Technical Writing team

The Technical Writing team, consisting of four people, owns and manages technical documentation for CellaVision’s Devices & Software products. As Manager Technical Writing at the Devices & Software division, you are responsible for leading the Technical Writing team. The Manager Technical Writing is responsible for the team’s work and making sure that technical documentation describing the use, commissioning and maintenance of products is produced in a timely and efficient manner. The Manager Technical Writing takes an active role and is expected to produce material as part of the work. Manager Technical Writing reports to Director Software & Applications.



Key tasks as Manager Technical Writing

- Ensures consistent delivery of technical documentation within and outside development projects in collaboration with Product Managers and Development Managers.
- Defines and executes the short- and long-term strategy for technical documentation including translation.
- Responsible for the planning and prioritization of the team’s work.
- Leads process improvement and tools development in Technical Writing area.
- Maintains and tracks information on active and obsolete technical documentation and manages them appropriately in the company document management system.
- Manages transfer to production of new or revised documentation.
- Personnel responsibility for the team, which includes setting goals, conducting appraisals, salary conversations, work environment responsibility for the team’s employees, etc.

Who you are

We believe you have:

- Higher education in technical documentation, information engineering, linguistics or a similar field.
- Previous experience from a senior technical writing/documentation/communication role.
- Good ability to understand complex technical systems.
- Excellent writing skills in Swedish and English.
- Very good understanding of technical documentation work.
- Good experience with single-source authoring and content management systems.
- Basic knowledge about working with localization practices and formats.
